Well, let's see. Tonight, I bring you a tale of my events concerning the dates of Friday, September 9, 2005, and Saturday, September 10, 2005. Yesterday was the first homegame for the high school. Coincidentally, it was also the night of auditions for Murder on Center Stage, TCP's latest production. Friday at school was alright. It wasn't really too eventful besides Madison leaving early and having Mom pick her up since her mom was at Camp Gruber and her dad was Wisonsin bound. I tried to show a little school spirit, even though we were being held back from the pep assembly. Well, some of us. Grrrrr...but, that's a whole other story. Anyway, I was slightly "tiger"ed out. I wore my "hand-me-down" Select Choir shirt (which is black and orange) and my TJHS necklace. I've hardly worn it the entire time I've been in Junior High and realized that I might as well get some use out of it before I'm at the high school full time next year.
Sarah and I went to the auditions together. We were there around 6:55, and the auditions were at 7:00 (the game at 7:30). OUR "DIRECTOR" WAS AT LEAST TWENTY MINUTES LATE!!!!!!!!!! I couldn't believe it! I know she's a first-time director and all, and she is still in high school, so I should give her a break. But, I couldn't believe it! It's one thing to be five or ten minutes late, maybe. But TWENTY????? That's just crazy. It was cold readings and she had about three pieces picked out for us to read. Four of us showed up which included her sister and Mike Phillips, the resident anti-memorizer of lines at TCP. So, after the ten minutes it took to do the stuff she picked out (which we only read a skimpy amount of anyway seeing as how she didn't want us to know the end), she then asked, "Does anybody want to read for a specific part?" Her sister had to read for just about every single one while Sarah and I kinda just sat there. After asking where the character descriptions were, we read more about them and I kinda formed an idea in my mind of wanting to play Alice (oddly enough, I played Alice --Lewis Carroll's Alice--five years ago, and so did Chandra (we shared the part) in a TCP production!). When I told her, she picked out a part that had about one Alice line in it. It was funny.
We got to the game about ten minutes before the half. I had been worried we would miss the halftime show. After all, I did only go for the band. And the hot linebacker that Sarah and I were trying to track down. We sat with the DuValls. May I just take this time to say that they are the nicest people ever? Mr. Allen (ha ha) is organizing a band trip through Europe over the summer and has already said I could go, of course, if I wanted. Melody, meanwhile, has been digging up all of the information about it that she could find. So, when we sat down, she let me know. Mitchell was his usual funny self, and we had a good time. I saw Melanie, too, and got to talk to her, so that was good. Anyway, the half time show.... Claremore went first. Their theme was The Incredibles. They were all right, but their actual sets weren't that impressive. Our band went next. They were AWESOME! Their show was called "Power." They did a chant before they started. That part was kinda funny. But the rest of it was cool. Thomas Schneider, however, was unimpressed. He wanted our side to do The Incredibles. I sighed thinking, Only a music geek would get as excited about band, which I am not a member of, like I do, I suppose. But, it doesn't really matter. I don't care if I'm a geek or not. I think I'm cool. ;-) Anyway, I could see Anderson most of the time with his mellophone, and Chris was on that big stand thing conducting. Our 'guard was better than Claremore's also. Their's just sat there most of the time. The only bad one was Joy, really. She wasn't even that bad, though. She was just a little bit off some of the time.
After the half, we moved up closer to the band. The DuValls picked a spot right in front of where the Drum Major (Chris) sits. After the band got back from their break, I spent a good amount of time yelling at Anderson and encouraging him, and the other mellophones, but especially him, to spaz out. I'm sure Chris appreciated four members of his band being crackheads. At one point, he pointed out the gloves he was wearing. Not only were these white gloves completely filthy, ("I just got them today, and look at them!!!") they were about half the size of his actual hand, so that was entertaining. Thomas talked to me and Sarah for a while. I saw Joe for a split second and silently communicated with Jordan off and on (he was pre-occupied with his girlfriend!). Sarah and I left about two minutes before the game ended, (they lost anyway) only to see THE RADER directing traffic! It was the best thing EVER! She looked like she knew exactly what she was supposed to do, though I highly, highly, doubt she actually did.
Today, I woke up around ten and called Chris about signing the card for Renee's birthday present (we went in on it together so it would be cheaper). He asked me if I needed a ride, and I said no. We decided we would meet at her party at 3:00 and sign it before we went in. Then, we both wondered how late it would be. So, I called her and she was like, "People can leave whenever they want." And I asked her, "So, do you know how late anyone is staying?" and she says, "Micah's gonna stay until he has to go to work." I was like, "And when is that?" Get this: she goes, "Eleven." EIGHT HOURS AT RENEE'S??????? No way, Jose. I can tell you that freakin' much. I called Chris back and let him know what Renee had said and we both decided that 10:00 was our absolute latest time for being there. He ended up asking me if I wanted a ride again and I was like, "Well, I guess I'll go ahead and get one since you keep asking me. You want to pick me up around ..." I looked up to see Mom tapping her watch. It was 2:45 and I still wasn't dressed yet. I was like, "Um, give me ten minutes." So, I came back down a little bit later, fully dressed this time. A few minutes after that, he pulled up. Before we got out of the car, I had him sign the card, although, in the struggle to actually get it out, I tore part of the envelope, so we had a good little laugh about that. We went in and basically sat there for four hours, occasionally getting up for food. She had puppies, so I was perfectly content. One was really chubby and blind and so cute and lazy. I just played with him the whole time. He was like a boy version of Sugar. It was genius. Simon ended up showing up a little bit later, then Micah. Micah, I thought, was going to die. He said he hadn't slept in 48 hours. He basically was lifeless the entire time I was there and actually took a nap for a while. I felt bad for him. Renee, after I asked her to, opened our present. I think she liked it. I don't know if she realized how nice it is. I don't care about her knowing that we spent a cumulative $45 on it, but I just want her to realize that we want her to have something nice, if that makes any sense. When opening the card, she couldn't get it out of the envelope either, and Chris and I started cracking up again, much to her dismay. We had hamburgers for dinner with toast as our buns. They didn't have any ketchup so I just ate mine plain. And I had some potatoes and carrots. It was really good. We gorged out on cupcakes for a little bit, and everyone laughed at me when I dropped mine in the kitchen. We went back into the living room and Chris and Simon played Halo. It was fun to watch. I was still playing with the chubby, blind puppy, though. It just was sleeping. Then, Renee decided it would be fun to play Twister. So we did that for a while. Chris realized he had to leave, (he was going to go eat with Joe) and at that same time Renee decided to do her candles, so I told him we needed to watch her do that first. We woke up Micah and he ambled into the kitchen. She blew out her sixteen candles after we sang to her and everyone dug in--again. Then, Chris and I left, and ended up giving Simon a ride home, too. Mom, Sarah, and I ended up deciding to go see The Transporter 2 (my third time). I called Chris and let him know. Mom and I were going to meet Sarah there, then decided we wanted to see the preview for Serenity, (September 30th--SWEET!) which was on 40 Year Old Virgin--go figure--and left ten minutes early. I saw Anderson and Logan with Anderson's girlfriend and Mr. Meigs's stepdaughter, so that was fun. Mom and I went into #6. I waited with anticipation at seeing it again. O, Joss Whedon, how I love thee and thy's genius!! Enough geeking out for now. Of course, they started it like, ten mintues late, and it was the third preview, so by the time we got back out into the lobby, they had already gone into the theatre. But, we did end up having perfect timing and seeing Sarah. So, we all went back, and since they only saved like, two seats, both extremely far apart, (I wanted to sit with Mom and Sarah, too. I ain't no traita' after all.) we ended up sitting in the row in front of them, messing with Joe some before the movie started. It was still good. And that's about all I have for today. All in all, a good 48 hours. Until next time, I'm Ron Burgundy. You stay classy, world.
Quote and Picture of the Day! :
Peter: Lois, come see what I did with the money your dad gave me.
Lois: Oh my God. You turned the den into Pee-Wee's Playhouse?
Peter: [singing] Come on, get up / Knock off your napping / It's a crazy, messed up place where anything can happen / There's a chair that freakin' talks. Hey look! / There's some fish that give advice. Holy crap / It's screwey at Peter's Playhouse. Ha ha ha. Watch this, Lois. [imitates Pee-Wee] Hi, Jambi.
Brian: [as Jambi the Genie] Mekka-lekka-hi, mekka-hinie - God, I hate you so much.

When do you know whether you made it or not?
Sounds like the game was fun!
Sorry I didn't read anymore after that because my brain is pretty much filled past capacity.
